Runnells City Council meets the second Tuesday of each month. They currently meet at City Hall at 7pm. All residents will be given the opportunity to address the Council at the beginning of the meeting. If you would like the Council to deliberate or take action on an item the same evening, you should call 515-966-2042 and have the item placed on the agenda.

The City of Runnells has a contract for Garbage and recycling collection with MWA. If you live outside the City Limits or in Polk County, you are not on this contract and may use any company that you choose. Garbage for the residents of the City will be billed on the DMWW bill.
Runnells has an open burn ordinance for small brush, Please be aware of Burn Bans and be considerate of others in your neighborhood. You are responsible for knowing of burn bans before you burn. If you live in the City limits and would like the City to burn for you, please call 515-966-2042.

No fee or reservations needed for the shelter house in the park- it is a first come first serve basis.
